12-step Alternative Treatment Program

Abstinence Coaching

Benefits of Abstinence Coaching

  • Complete confidentiality and anonymity in person or via telephone. No one will know you are seeing an addictions therapist and no one will be privy to what is actually discussed in each session.*
  • Individualized, one-on-one coaching without a judgmental, moralistic or hidden agenda.
  • The number of sessions you attend is based on your personal needs and treatment goals.
  • Dr. Kern is on call as needed in times of crisis, in addition to your scheduled sessions.
  • Acquire skills that empower you and foster greater and greater self-confidence.
  • No public and often humiliating meetings are required.
  • You don't have to change your friends or your lifestyle to successfully abstain from your substance.
  • No mandate for lifetime attendance at support-group meetings.
  • No spirituality or belief in a higher power is necessary.
  • On going supervision about medication options.
  • Referrals for private detoxification and medication (Naltrexone, Antibuse, etc.) .
  • No loss of time from important life demands, so you can continue to work and no one need know you are in treatment.
*The only exceptions to complete confidentiality are those required by state law in the specific event that you become suicidal, homicidal, or gravely disabled, or if a child or elder has been abused. Also, due to technology issues, Dr. Kern cannot 100% guarantee the telephone or other forms of communication.
